This poll inspired by two recent uses of the word "queer".
The second was clearly a problem (but she was drunk, and meant well).
Still puzzling over the first, the song has a rich queer-positive history as does Willie Nelson. The word "queer" is not negative and used to connote irony. But the way it works in this version of the song in 2024 doesn't quite sit right with me.
